Volunteer Your Services, Your
Special Skills!
Whether
coming with a group or on your own,

Garden Harvest is looking for people who have
the skill and experience in any of the following areas:
-
Tractor work, to plant seed, to mow
orchards, to drill holes with the posthole attachment for
fencing for the goats and chickens that are to provide milk &
eggs for low income people.
-
Backhoe work, to move topsoil and mulch
to planting beds
-
Trencher work, to dig trenches for
irrigation pipe and water pipe for the farm animals
-
Chainsaw work, to clear areas for
planting
-
Carpentry: to nail oak boards to our locust
posts to provide fencing for the farm animals
-
Welding: to fabricate gates for the paddocks,
and help fabricate portable metal pens
-
Driving/Delivery: We need drivers to help
with the delivery of produce.
-
Horse Training: Garden Harvest has been
given two Haflinger mares, for the purpose of pulling carts,
light draft work, and also for pony rides as a fundraising
activity. However, these mares, while very sweet & docile, now
two years old, have yet to be broken or trained for driving. So
anyone with expertise in tequine care & training who would like
to take on the grooming and/or training of one or both of them
would be of great assistance!
Also, if anyone owns equipment such as a bobcat and would be
willing to bring & use it, that would be a great help in spreading
the woodchips evenly over the planting beds.
There is no minimum number of hours for this volunteer work.
Any amount of time is appreciated.
